Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join the maintenance team at a prestigious commercial office building in the heart of Liverpool Street.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading building services provider, working within a high-rise commercial environment. The successful candidate will be mechanically qualified with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance and will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems.

Continental Shift - 4 nights, 4off, 3 days, 3 nights, 6off, 4 days - 07:00am - 19:00pm / 19:00am - 07:00am

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems
  • Monitor and maintain mechanical plant
  • Maintenance and fault finding on pumps, motors, seals, and bearings
  • Maintenance of AHUs and FCUs, including filter changes and cleaning
  • Carry out water treatment checks and temperature monitoring
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs including replacing taps, washers, and clearing blockages
  • Monitor and respond to BMS alarms
  • Undertake basic electrical duties including lamp replacements
  • Carry out general building fabric maintenance
  • Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logbooks
  • Proactively identify faults and arrange remedial works
  • Liaise with clients, occupiers, and site management teams
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and site procedures

Requirements

  • Mechanical City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 Qualification
  • Proven experience within commercial building maintenance
  • Experience working within a large commercial office environment
  • Multi-skilled building services maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical plant and HVAC systems
