Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the delivery of a high‑quality Facilities Management service within a government contract.

Job Overview

The Facilities Assistant will work across all aspects of Facilities Management service provision, supporting customers, stakeholders and internal teams on a day‑to‑day basis. The role plays a key part in ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely and in line with agreed standards and procedures.

Working as part of a wider Facilities Management team, the postholder will contribute positively to service performance and customer experience, supporting both routine operations and low to medium risk projects. The role requires a proactive, customer‑focused approach and a strong commitment to compliance, safety and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as front of house, welcoming visitors and providing appropriate support
  • Ensure security procedures are followed at all times
  • Deliver support services including porterage and meeting room management
  • Manage and monitor the Facilities Management mailbox
  • Support inductions for new starters, including health & safety and environmental inductions
  • Log, facilitate and oversee reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits
  • Support compliance with environmental and HSEQ standards, including fire risk assessments, traffic management plans and water hygiene arrangements
  • Complete and assist with audits, including security audits, and provide general administrative support
  • Assist with the delivery of low to medium risk projects

Person Specification

  • Experience working with customers and soft services
  • Ability to work confidently with Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with different levels of management
  • Experience completing compliance checks and reports, or willingness to be trained
  • Positive attitude with a proactive, can‑do mindset
  • IOSH qualification desirable, with training available if not already held
